Marylou Martin worked for Corash & Hollender as a law clerk in 1986, honing her bankruptcy skills pending her 1987 admission to the bar. Since then she has specialized in all aspects of bankruptcy practice and creditor representation. she represents both debtors and creditors; individuals and businesses. Martin has extensive experience in all phases of Chapter 7, Chapter 13 and Chapter 11 cases, including preparation of bankruptcy petitions and schedules, drafting of motions and supporting memoranda, attending hearings, handling court appearances, negotiation and preparation of Chapter 11 reorganization plans. In addition to handling court matters, she has a keen eye on the facts of a case, and often counsels clients when not to file bankruptcy. She has been an Adjunct Professor at Brooklyn College, teaching Bankruptcy Law. Martin is a long standing member of the New York State Bar Association, the Richmond County Bar Association, the Staten Island Women's Bar Association, and the Brooklyn Bar Association. Having attended New York University, Martin graduated cum laude from Brooklyn Law School in 1987. She is admitted to practice in the states of New York and New Jersey, and the Federal District Courts of New York (Eastern and Southern Districts) and New Jersey.
