George McVay began his professional career in 1966 as an associate of Arthur M. Selznick, Esq. He became partner in 1968 handling Probate and Administration matters. In 1973, McVay entered public service. He was a Felony Trial Assistant for the Richmond County District Attorney's Office. Thereafter, he served as Chief of the District Attorney's Appeals Bureau. When D.A. Thomas Sullivan was elected to the bench, McVay joined him to assist in the new judicial role, serving as Law Secretary in the Supreme Court for three years. He continued in this capacity for an additional two years when Justice Sullivan was elevated to the Appellate Division, 2nd Department. In 1988, McVay returned to private practice joining Corash & Hollender, bringing an expertise in the fields of Criminal Law Trial Practice, and Appeals, as well as a thorough understanding of Wills, Trusts and Estate Administration.

McVay is a longstanding member of the New York State Bar Association and Staten Island Women's Bar Association and a former member of the Staten Island Trial Lawyers Association. He is also a member of the Richmond County Bar Association, having served on both its Appeals and Unauthorized Practice of Law Committees. A graduate from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College in 1962, McVay received his J.D. in 1965 from St. John's University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in the State of New York, U.S. District Court (Eastern and Southern Districts of New York) U.S. Court of Appeals (2nd Circuit), and the United States Supreme Court.
