Due to the loss of my husband,followed by the pandemic I fell behind on mortgage payments. This lead to the bank seeking a foreclosure . I went to Corash and Hollander to discuss, options and decided modification would be my best option as my daughter had moved in with me and would be able to help with expenses.

You handled my bankruptcy which was discharged in December 2005. I just wanted to contact you to let you know that I’m grateful for your assistance and to tell you that I have relocated to Virginia and have found a new job as a legal secretary. Finding an apartment was difficult at first, many places here require that bankruptcies be discharged for one year and some required two years but I found someone “willing to take a chance”. Anyway . . . as far as beginning to re-establish credit, I did as you suggested using the one credit card I did not owe any money on when I filed for bankruptcy — I used it at least once a month and paid the bill in full as soon as it came in. To that extent, I received an offer for a credit card in the mail recently which I applied for and for which I was approved. How can I thank you for all you have done for my family? I’m sure you have not only changed my life, you may have saved it.
I had explored bankruptcy several times, but felt it could not get done without an extraordinary effort due to the intricacies of our case; specifically the ownership issues regarding our home. By the time we came to you, I could not have felt more overwhelmed by our financial troubles.
I had hoped your expertise would be our salvation, but I was far from certain it would work out. In fact, I was prepared to withdraw our case if the court’s decision wasn’t any better than the miserable situation we were already in. Our personal lives were very strained by these troubles. I worked a grueling job for a difficult employer. The efforts I made to take care of my family, with all these troubles, was definitely taking its toll on me.
I resigned myself to believe this was the way life was going to be, but I knew I was definitely fighting a losing battle.
These problems were affecting my health. I could see it and I could feel it. I have always been an optimist, but that account was almost empty too. When you start to lose hope, you’re finished. Only a miracle could help me, and I tried to keep the faith.
Your wonderful gift, your god given intelligence, allowed you to build a path for us. Your vision, your plan of attack, built a road to a fresh start for us. In the process, you did more than just take a monkey off my back. You dug me out from a pile of rubble. Man, you gave me my life back. God Bless you.
Mr. Hollender, I know this is starting to sound like a love letter, and it is. So, let’s not forget Camille. We love Camille too. I’m sure you bless the day Camille walked into your office. She clearly saw your plan and went to great, painstaking lengths to carry it out. To say she was just diligent or thorough is a huge understatement. She was intent on Chapter 7. She wasn’t simply a subordinate or worker doing her job; she was taking no prisoners, green beret style.
I know that Camille was essential in making this miracle happen. In my own job, I try to be thoughtful and conscientious.
I never forget that people, human beings, rely on my work. Both you and Camille are two of the best people I’ve met. Your humanity must be what drives you both, because it is overwhelming.
You’ve never judged us, and the objectives you’ve accomplished can never be overstated. I only hope that I can live up to all you have given to me.
I started a new job just before the New Year, and immediately felt blessed by that opportunity. Then our favorable decision in Federal Court came next.
I look at the New Year with great hope for the future. I have prayed for both you and Camille and both your families to receive endless blessings, and will continue to do so.
